Wedding BarnVaried settings for your special occasion include the Eco Villa, beach, cave, campfire, Pohutukawa outdoor stage; and the intimacy of The Barn; with its wooden dance floor, dining settings, well equipped kitchen and band stage.

Marquees, flags, fairy lights and more are available to dress the land and heighten the sense of occasion.

Prana Eco Retreat is not a public camping ground. Only a maximum of 6 guests per day, (farm and home stay), are allowed in this very private retreat. All guest need to be registered on our database which can be done through subscribing to our newsletter. (see left column). Studio Production

We are expanding the Production Studio and offer an environment that is sympathetic to the creation and performance of art, music and film whilst providing state of the art technology with which to capture it.

The result is a studio complex that embraces the natural environment of light and water and an atmosphere far removed from the claustrophobic confines of other production studios.

No noise, no connection to community except its own, totally devoid of any pollution or population.

The large 100-acre natural site of land, bush and coastal positioning in Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand, is magnificent; with rock faces covered in glorious ancient Pohutukawa trees, stands of native New Zealand bush, park like settings, walking tracks through the bush and to the pristine, white sand Opoutere Beach with 165.25 million sq.km of Pacific Fresh Air System in front of it.

This haven encompasses camping, low, medium and high-budget eco-lodge accommodation, plus large spaces for: special events, retreats, weddings, workshops and music festivals. Spring at Prana is August and September, a pre-summer season spans October and November. Summer lasts four months December to March, there is a short autumn in April and May, and a brief winter in June and July.

Location: A coastal 100-acre natural site of land, bush, beach, trees and native forest on the Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand. At the end of the World, at the end of the road, with 165.25 million sq.km of Pacific Fresh Air System in front of it.

Land: A nature sanctuary for peace and quiet; native plant gardens; native bush walks; pine forest walking tracks; landscaped tent sites and the pristine Opoutere Beach for walking, surfing and swimming.

Prana Eco Retreat is based at Ohui, which has been an ancient gathering place for Maori tribes and more recently has become a haven for new generations of New Zealanders and global travelers seeking personal meaning in their lives, by connecting with the natural order in a deeper way than modern lifestyles allow for.

Opoutere BeachDelicious, sweet bore water for drinking from every tap!

Eco composting toilets: these toilets are designed for comfort and sustainability; instead of using water they use mulch, and worms in the base and each year they are emptied providing rich, composted mulch for the trees and flowering shrubs.

Showers: these are designed for comfort and use an economical gas system that heats the water only when you need it.

Spray free: The land is spray free and the principles of organic gardening are honoured.

Tree planting: A tree planting program has been underway for many years transforming the self seeded pine tree landscape to native tree plantings & landscaped camping areas.

Travel times: Prana Eco Retreat used to be a 3 hours drive from Auckland, but now with better roads, it is approximate 2 hours. Once the new Kopu Bridge has been built, it will take even less time.

Summer: The summer at Prana Eco Retreat spans a long season, from October to April, inviting regular visits for camping, summer workshops, warm sun & fresh air, swimming, long walks, and all those wonderful outdoor summer activities.

New Year Festival: The festival started off as a group of musician friends getting together on New Years Eve 19 years ago.

Prana New Year Festival, Rhythms of Nature Festival and Prana Full Moon Festivals: have become annual events which invite healers, explorers and modern thinkers of all kinds to feel welcome, share their knowledge, gather strength and support others to be the change that we need in the world today. These healers often feel the rich metaphysical properties of the land, which enhances their work.

Ticket pricing for the festival reflects the need to constantly improve on creating a pleasant experience for everyone involved, this includes better facilities and maintenance of the land whilst limiting our ticket quota; focusing on creating a heart felt community, camping comfort and care, world class entertainment, with a kiwi can-do attitude.
